Academy EuropeRTC is interested in setting up academies in other European countries where there are large Roma communities, with the aim of offering young Roma the opportunity to gain formal accredited training in theatre and performance skills. Delegates from RTC have so far visited Bulgaria, Czech Republic and most recently Hungary, to look into partnership working with different organisations, Roma groups and individuals from those countries. Links have also been made with Austria. Joint programmes of learning would lead to exciting and inspirational shows to be performed locally, nationally and internationally. Such programmes would also provide the opportunity for exchanges giving young Roma a chance to visit different countries and experience other cultures. |
